Hi everyone, Today I will talk about my 1st Day in Digital Internship Program from the industry icon Deepak Kanakraju a.k.a Digital Deepak let me give you a brief introduction of myself before I talk about the 1st class in Digital Internship Program, I am a working professional with 15+ years of experience in the BPO industry with expertise of running operations as Operations Manager followed Business Development & Sales Manager and working currently as HR Manager taking care of the entire HR team of a healthcare BPO. My expertise as an individual cut across all verticals of business except Finance and that helps get the fair understanding of all the facets that go into building and running a BPO business seamlessly.

My journey with Digital marketing started in the year 2014 when learning digital marketing through an online medium was in its fledgeling state & I thought this is the right time to learn while I was still working and that would make me a ‘’Wannabe candidate’’ in the industry. Unfortunately, my dream was short-lived as I had more in my plate than what I could eat as I was overwhelmed with work that I could never give a complete focus to this new medium of learning called ‘Online learning’’ but Deepak Kanakraju a.k.a Digital Deepak inspired me again to give one more try to learn digital marketing through his Reverse Learning Strategy and I instantly enrolled myself for ‘’Digital Marketing Internship Program’’ as the offer for so exciting that I could not let go of me this time.

Deepak Kanakraju a.k.a Digital Deepak who was the then trainer of Digital Vidya 2013, during his one of the session that he was teaching, I could see his ability to connect with the audience by being simplistic in his approach but yet authentic (One of a kind). I had been following him ever since by becoming a member of his Facebook community that lead me on to his world & had seen the prism of digital marketing through his eyes.

My first class started at 9 pm & I was excited to learn it from scratch with a more focussed approach as Deepak K had mastered the art of online teaching on Digital Marketing with the number of training programs that he had done for a long time becoming one of a market leader in this field.

Deepak K started the lecture by giving us the objective of the program and that was to ‘’FIND THE GOLD”. Deciding where to compete is half your success. Basically, it is identifying your interest and the industry that you would like to focus on that helps to add value from your end based on expertise. As this world is an ever-expanding market with solutions giving rise to new needs hence, the opportunity keeps taking a new shape whilst, old products/ services or problems keep dying down.

Global Economics was another topic that most of the people have very little and limited knowledge on how the economy works around the world. Just to put up in simple words — The economy of a country goes up when the average age of the country goes up as people spend more whilst, the economy goes down when the average age goes up above 50, as household spending goes down. Recession is an ongoing process & India with its average age of 27.5 years should not be worried as the Indian economy will bounce back is inevitable.

Communication is an important key skill for any living being to exchange value and for digital marketing, it is no doubt an important criterion as that will help you create content, communicate, listen, understand & comprehend your audience whom you will exchange value for money. Read & listen podcasts for at least 30 minutes a day respectively, write at least 500 words a day & watch sitcoms during your leisure time daily to help you improve communication more effectively.

The future of digital marketing is huge, as digital marketing is an enhanced medium of marketing and marketing will never die. With most of the audiences hooked to digital platform for news, entertainment, learning, social media, in order to stay abreast and in constant touch with the world affairs; this medium becomes the most effective medium to connect, engage and attract the audience and market your product or services while customer analytics help you understand customer interest faster than the traditional medium to change your market strategy accordingly.

Select Your Niche by exploring a specialized category of your interest and go on to become a market leader in that space, that will you help gain authority and credibility. E.g., Heart Surgeon will earn more compared to a General Surgeon hence, reflecting a need to focus on one particular niche category & master it.

Always remember that ‘’The Riches are in the Niches”.

To find a niche do market research or start first looking at the problems that you are facing and if you don’t find a solution, there is a good chance that others have the same problem and AWS from Amazon is one of the biggest example of it and there are many more.

Keyword & Competitor Research is such an important activity in digital marketing helping us understand the customer dynamics giving a perspective of what the customers are looking for (High Purchase Intent) that is directly proportional to market opportunity.

By performing Google Trends Analysis, you can find which topics are getting hot or not, followed by trending topics across the world and how your competitors brand name is compared to your brand name helping you make decisions that will change the dynamics of your business against your competitors.

The session of the internship program ended on a very good note where each subject was discussed in detail to make the audience understand the importance of it and how it will help the students in becoming a Digital Marketing with that will help them create value and change the life of people whom they engage with in the future.
