Customer Avatar — DM Internship Program by Digital Deepak
1st class in digital marketing internship program had been a success with very high completion rate (87%) through the pull method (Carrots/ Sticks) and this learning strategy created a positive pressure in students to show involvement in online learning & complete their assignments. 1st class of the internship program helped me gain confidence and created a belief that online platform for learning compared to learning offline in coaching centres is the best learning medium of the next decade that will transform our country’s population representing all age group into a formidable and competent workforce in the world helping the country to forge ahead and become one of the top economies in the world.
2nd class of the internship program was another learning session with Deepak K., enlightening us about being a good student in life, a student who uses this technique or formula will always help them reach their set goals using the GOLDEN TRIANGLE formula.
Golden Triangle : Learn> Do> Teach
When you teach what you learned, you understand it in a better way, enabling your brain to hard-wire it and create a repository in your brain that you can recollect and pull it out of your memory whenever you want.
While, learning and doing is an activity where your attention and interest is required. Teaching is an important activity where more than you the person listening to you must be able to comprehend and stay interested in listening to you.
The 3C’s of Marketing — Communication, Conversation & Conversion
As everyone knows language is a mode of communication, it is imperative that you learn to communicate in a better and effective way that will help you build meaning conversations with your audience and help themselves convert as your customer.
‘’People don’t like to be sold but they love to buy’’
To communicate better be authentic, as people are attracted to real people and not fake or social personas. If you cannot converse well 1:1 then you cannot converse well 1: many.
Marketing is a technique or formula to influence the sale of a product or services but the art of communication is primarily to influence the customer and make them buy the product or services and people with more life experience are better marketers as they can understand the psyche of the customer by being in the customer’s shoes through their experiences in life.
Customer Avatar — Your Target Audience
If everyone is your audience, then consider that no one is your audience.
It is important to identify the audience for your product or services; use of demographics and psychographics techniques helps you provide insight on who is your target audience and what is your customer avatar, giving a detailed profile of your ideal customer that includes their demographics, likes, dislikes, age groups etc., helping you create content to laser target your ideal customers.
Focus on the Centre
Always write to your audience of the age where you have the maximum audience and as you move away from the centre, it will dilute with an increased risk for your business.
Once you identify your customer avatar, create engaging contents for your customer avatar by joining their mental conversations such as talking to them on a career they are already interested in or where do they want themselves in the upcoming 2, 3 or 5 years ahead.
Use of Emails & Social Media
Always remember that you should write to one customer at a time and address people by their first name, helping you strike an emotional connection with your customer avatar.
Email writing is more powerful than social media, as you connect with your audience on a 1:1 conversation, making it the primary method of communication.
Social media should be used as a connecting and influencing medium for your audience such as webinars, podcast etc.,
Silence is crucial for sales — ‘’Selling happens in noise but buying happens in silence’’
Though you may have a big audience, everyone is alone and your advice to the individual customer avatar may trigger their interest and reading email in silence may help them decide and convert as your customer, remember ’Buying happens in silence’.
Importance of Copywriting
The product, called copy, is a written content that aims to increase brand awareness and ultimately persuade a person or group to take a particular action.
Copywriting Technique: Headline > First Sentence > Second Sentence > Third > Fourth. The aim of the headline is to make you read the 1st sentence, the job of 1st sentence is to make you read the 2nd sentence, the job of 2nd sentence is to make you read the 3rd sentence and so on, creating a waterfall effect in writing, leading to a better understanding, engagement and action from the customer.
Now, it is time to work on identifying your customer avatar and create an engaging as well as compelling content for them to make a buying decision and become your customer, good luck — Abdul Basith
